DrucHyd-2C is a two-component injection resin that ensures high reactivity with excellent mechanical strength and chemical stability. It is designed for consolidation and waterproofing of rocks, friable land and structures which are affected by high-pressure water and for filling voids and cavities in strata. A major environmental advantage of this resin is that it does not contain halogens and CFC.
DrucHyd-2C penetrates into the tiniest fissures and seals them even against significant water infiltration due to its unique and specific composition. First contact with water causes the resin to expand into a compact stable foam. The fast paced reaction quickly blocks infiltration water and the following reaction forms a compact, flexible and resistant resin. The final products push through the porous material into the base without any further increase in volume. This forms a waterproof sheath of variable thickness surrounded by a foam matrix that permanently consolidates the surrounding rock or soil.
DrucHyd-2C is capable of hardening with or without water. With water it forms a stable, resistant and hard yet flexible foam while without water it generates a hard yet flexible low foam.
The hardening/foaming reaction takes place at a relatively fast pace. Nevertheless, for a specific applications or in cases of low temperatures (below 15°C), the reaction can be further accelerated by adding small quantities (0.5-1.5 % in weight) of a specific accelerants to one of the components.
APPLICATION
- Tunnels: waterproofing of major water infiltrations through block fissures or joints & cavity filling.
- Dams and hydraulic works: repair/sealing of fissures (even in the presence of aquifers).
- Wells: waterproofing/sealing of joints, fissures, and cracks in the event of major water loss.
- Air gaps: sealing and insulation.
- Sub-foundations: waterproofing.
- Friable and loose land: consolidation.
- Walls and masonry: waterproofing underneath aquifers.
FEATURES
- Low viscosity product allowing good penetration into the smallest fissures.
- Excellent adhesive strength.
- Yield to ground pressure accommodates subsequent ground movement.
- High mechanical resistance gives improved support of strata.
- Easy excavation possible with the cutting machine when used in coal faces.

SHELF LIFE
The shelf life of the product is six months from the date of manufacture. The products are required to be kept away from excess moisture and direct sunlight. Improper storage will shorten the shelf life.
APPLICATION METHOD
The two components of DrucHyd-2C are mixed together using a pump for two-component resins with a static mixer. The optimum mixing ratio for the two components is 1:1 by volume. After mixing, DrucHyd- 2C is injected continuously through the fissure. Once the two components are mixed, viscosity of the mixture increases substantially, thus avoiding separation or wash-out of the injected material by pressurized intrusion water.
It must be ensured that the diameter of the drilled holes near the sealing area is suitable for the dimensions of the injectors used. It is recommend to use the expansion injectors with non-return (check) valves (packers).
NOTE. The two components, Component A and component B, must be shaken well before use in order to rehomogenize any settled additives. Component A may suffer from significant increase in viscosity if stored at low temperatures.
CLEANING
After every application the injection equipment must be washed with mineral oil which is free of water and impurities.
DISPOSAL
Small quantities of cured product residues can be disposed of as normal domestic waste. Disposal of uncured product components must be carried in accordance with the local regulations. Empty cans should be cleared of any liquid by punching a hole through the edge of the cover and turning them upside down, until liquid does not flow out any longer.
